Carving Pumpkins

Pumpkin carving is a favorite Halloween activity around here. Todd is Chief Pumpkin Carver, but all the kids scoop out their own pumpkin and choose a design. Oh, they were having a great time in all that slimy mess ;)

Brandon drew his own design this year while Megan and Nicholas both chose one from the Family Fun templates that Jenny posted. They turned out terrific!

Megan's is a big pumpkin eating little pumpkin-kabobs. I was trying to take these pictures without using a flash and they turned out a bit blurry. :(
Nicholas' is a pumpkin roasting marshmallow over his own candle.
Brandon's is a scary face with fangs.
So creative! I loved them all!

Fourth of July-Part 2

We extended our holiday with a visit with my mom today.

Fourth of July-Part 1

Yesterday, we spent the afternoon with the Wilson side of the family. It was really nice to see everyone!

It was a little cool and drizzly but we stayed nice and dry under huge umbrellas.

Todd's Uncle Wayne, Aunt Carol, Judy (Todd's mom), Scott (Todd's brother) and Barbara (Scott's wife).
Next table is Chris (Scott's son), Russ (Todd's dad), Nicholas, Todd, and Brandon.

Judy had some little crafts for the kids. Isn't that tiger cute??

Russ and Judy were unable to make it up for Nicky's little birthday party so he opened up his gifts from Meemaw and Papaw yesterday.

I thought I'd share our first New Year's Eve party as my first blog :) We had a nice dinner with paella for the big people and make-your-own pizzas for the smaller people. Then we settled down for some games and snacks! Brandon and Kristen made it til midnight and watched the ball drop with us. Nicky tried but just couldn't make it and Megan...let's just say I had to force her but she finally fell asleep around 11! Here are a few pictures of our very happy new year!

When I told Brandon we were going to get some sparkling apple juice to toast he said "Why are we toasting apple juice?" He thought I meant we would put it in the toaster hehehe ;)
