Soccer Pictures

This past Tuesday was the day for Megan's soccer pictures. What a rotten day for outdoor pictures! Not that anyone could help it. But still...It rained right before the scheduled time so the field was wet and the humidity had to be around one hundred percent. And it was hot. And sticky. UGH...

We stood in line for an hour waiting her turn. That was a really long hour ;) She was tired. And bored. And hot. She wanted to hang on me. Um, no. She wanted me to hold her. No again. I was really glad when it was all over :)

I took my own pictures. I started while we were still waiting in line as a way to entertain my hot, tired baby. It worked!

Check out those freckles! So stinkin' cute!
We had some fun with that :) Then it was time!

Let the Games Begin!

Megan had her very first soccer game last Saturday! Due to not checking the schedule carefully, we arrived one hour early. GAH! Like we don't have anything better to do than sit around a soccer field watching other kids play! As luck would have it, they have a pretty nifty playground ;)
Then, finally, it was time! Megan did really well. A little tentative at first, but she soon caught on that the best way to actually get to kick the ball is to get in there and get it! Toward the end of the game, she scored her very first goal :)
Go Megan!

Scenes From a Good Day

So, yeah, Friday did turn out to be a good day :) The weather was good and the water was refreshing. Nicholas caught the only fish of the day but that didn't stop them from having fun out there. By the time I got there with the girls, they were starving ;) Here's our day in pictures:

After lunch, Todd offered to take the girls on a boat ride since the boys had already been out. Kristen wanted to go, but Megan just wanted to play in the water :) So Brandon went instead. That boy loves the water!
Nicholas and Megan played in the water:
and sand:
Megan makes friends everywhere she goes.
Those two played for quite a while :)

We did a little sunbathing:
and were entertained by the seagulls:
A very relaxing family day. Just what the doctor ordered ;)

It's Going to be a Good Day

That's my guys heading out to fish early this morning :) Todd got them up, made them breakfast, then they piled in the truck and set out to bring home dinner. I love that. Actually, he's thinking they might not catch anything being this time of the year, but I'm not really sure any of them care ;) The girls and I are meeting up with them later, bringing food, beach chairs, water toys, and cool drinks. I can't wait! It's been a mostly good, but also stressful week around here and I'm looking forward to relaxing with my family and maybe a book! Happy Friday!

Mini-Milestone

Megan has her first loose tooth! Actually, both her front, bottom teeth are loose, but one is really loose. Like it wouldn't surprise me if it came out in the next day or too! Early this morning, she and I went out to the garage to do some work on my bookcases (more on that later ;)) and, of course, she was talking my head off ;) I'm thinking about my next step and she's counting the keys on the piano (yes, we have a piano in the garage! long story). As we were counting, she looked up at me just so and I saw it. At first, I wondered what was wrong with her tooth! Then it dawned on me...
I can't believe our baby will be six this fall. And this is our last, first loose tooth. Time goes so fast!

Cruising

Last Friday, we spent our family night on the lake! At least once during the summer, we take the boat to Buckeye Lake for a little evening cruise. We stop for pizza at Catfish Charlies then hit the water! So much fun!

At Catfish Charlies:
Safety first ;)

Todd has good boat helpers ;)
I LOVE going out on the boat. It's so very relaxing to me to be out there cruising around checking stuff out. I could spend the whole evening out there and am always disappointed when it's time to leave. (even though sometimes Todd drives me nuts with the whole zooming around at what feels like the speed of sound. the kids love that part ;))
Out came the fishing poles! They didn't get any bites but they were happy to have their poles in the water a bit. I think it might be time soon for a little fishing trip ;)
Megan was watching those poles closely ;)

We spent a little time back in the cove where they fish but then it was back to the open water (and zooming!).
I caught some flare in my picture!
Enjoying the water...and the company :)

Gorgeous!

Brandon got to steer us in to the boat ramp:

Hitting up the Farmer's Market

Last Thursday, I took the kids to the Reynoldsburg farmer's market. We had so much fun checking out all the fresh fruit and veggies! We had stopped at Schacht's just the day before for some yummy peaches. They were so good the kids had them eaten in one day! All eight of them! So we were on the lookout for more local peaches. I had also heard that raspberries are in season right now so they were on the list as well but no one had them. GAH! We'll be going back this week so maybe then :) For now, some pictures of our trip ;)
Those yummy-looking peaches came home with us and they are almost gone! So different from the ones from the grocery store. Warm, ripe, delicious :)

If you live in the area, the farmer's market is every Thursday from 3:30-6:30 and goes to September 30th.
