Bird Watching

I'm up at 3am waiting for Kristen to get home from work. She took a second job doing displays for American Eagle a couple of times a month simply because she loves it but they don't start until afterhours which means a late night. It has been around midnight the last few times, but this month it's 3am! I told her to call me when she leaves so I can get up and wait for her. I know she's tired and that really worries me. I guess your kids never stop waking you in the middle of the night ;)

Anyway, since I'm awake, and need  to stay that way for a bit, I hopped on to post a few pictures that I forgot to last month.

Early one morning (keep in mind this was last month, before the freaky, blazing heat), I had decided to take my coffee and my devotional readings outside to enjoy the morning. When I have the opportunity to do this, I'm always joined out there by little people as soon as they wake up and realize that Mom's outside! It's so sweet to watch them milling around outside, still in their bedclothes, listening to and watching for the birds. I love mornings that start this way :)

Scene's from a Picnic

Yesterday, we headed to Todd's parent's house for the afternoon for a Fourth of July picnic and a mini birthday celebration! The food was delicious and the company, wonderful :) It was really great to see everyone!

Then it was time to get wet! Megan forgot her bathing suit so I told her to try to not get too wet. See how well she listens?

Then  she watered the plants. We got to bring those bad boys home to play with in my uncle's pool :) I probably should start wearing my swim suit there ;)

Now here's where I failed. I didn't get anyone else's picture. I don't know what happened. The kids would do something cute, or I would see something to capture and I snapped it. I had a bit of brain fog from not enough sleep, but still! I can't believe I didn't make Russ smile for my camera once! (or Barb or Chris or Todd or really even Scott as I snuck the one I got ;)) Look out next time!

Belated Birthday

I had one more picture from my uncle's house to share. Kristen was out of town this year on her birthday. That was really no fun for us but that's just how it was. She came home to chaotic little birthday celebrations for her though, including being gifted by Grandma and the pool!
