Blown Away

Franklin Park Conservatory has some beautiful blown-glass art. A few years ago, they hosted an exhibit created by Chihuly. The exhibit was such a success and his pieces went so perfectly with the conservatory, that the Friends of the Conservatory  purchased most of the pieces for the conservatory making it the largest collection owned by a conservatory or botanical garden. These pieces are stunning.

In the ceiling of a tunnel:
 In a coy fish pond:
See what I mean? Stunning!

I'm loving this piece as well but I'm not sure of the artist. It was obviously made to go with the Savage Garden display:

We also had an opportunity to watch a glass blowing demonstration! We watched him take some glass particles and go from this:

to this:

Wow!

One more:
Of course I would not post all these pictures without one of our kids, would I??! I think they make that glass sculpture look good ;)
