Last Thursday was our last day of c-op for a few months. We break for the holidays but this year we've decided to prolong our break a bit. Seems we mommies can get more work done in the middle of winter when we have a somewhat captive audience ;) So this year we aren't heading back until the end of February. Word of warning to my co-op friends: I KNOW I'll be making calls for playdates! My kids can't go that long without seeing their buddies!
The kids work so hard for their teachers and learn so much at co-op that showcase night is always exciting! Here's a sample of their work:
Brandon's teacher for his Human Body class gave out gift cards to the top four students in her class. Brandon was one of them! He was so excited!
In his Current Events class they made a planning board for a newspaper.
His job was the cartoon. It says, "Oh come on, high-fructose corn syrup can't be that bad; it's made with corn for heaven's sake!" The second picture is a man stirring a vat of high-fructose corn syrup saying, "In goes the plutonium!" Crazy boy!
I taught a class on the pilgrims as well as other North American settlers. This is some of their work:
The corn-husk dolls were a bit challenging for this class (k-1st grade) but still a fun project!
After I captured some of their work, I walked around trying to capture pictures of them enjoying their friends before the Big Night began. This is what I got for my efforts:
Yes, he's crossing his eyes. ~sigh~ I snapped three pictures and all three have him crossing his eyes.
I snapped this then ordered everyone off the stage! (had to take cute picture of them first :))
All our kids were performing this year. Megan was so cute in the choir. It was by far her favorite class!
I love that she's looking right at me when the teacher told them to wave.
Nicholas' Ohio History class did a little skit on the French and Indian War:
So funny!
Brandon played the piano. He really enjoyed preparing his piece. I'm so happy to see him play again :)
It was a really fun night! We are so blessed to be part of such a loving home school community :)

Such great photos--now how are you able to do in one post what takes me like SEVEN??? I have editing issues.
ReplyDeleteAnd I forgot to tell you this, I was SO impressed by Brandon's piano piece! WOW! I had no idea he could play like that!
You definitely need to pick up on the lessons for him if he's interested. He's very talented!
